Autumn Colors Near the Rialto, Today

Not much in the way of actual foliage, but the selection of colors is right... You take what you can get in this intensely human-made city.

  1. This is a very beautiful picture, colors, reflections, shadows and light, truly unique to Venice.

    1. Thank you, Line. It is a uniquely Venetian scene, yet when I stood there looking at it (and, still, when I look at this image) that one bunch of yellow and green leaves combined with the red and orange walls made me think of autumn countrysides far away!

  2. These bright colors in the distance and the contrasted light remind me some venetian watercolors by the French contemporary painter Henri Landier. But here, everything seems so natural. Venice is human-made, but also time-made. Very nice picture. Thank you! (from Auvraisien)

    1. Thank you, Auvraisien. I hadn't heard of Landier, but have looked him up now and found his works on Venice (including a nice selection of them here: http://mavenise.blogspot.it/2013/07/acquarelles-dhenri-landier.html). I had no idea, so thanks for the lead!

What a beautiful photo. It captures the stillness and serenety of my dream of Venice. I'd love to have a copy to hang in my study in Stockholm. Please send me an email if you think that we could come to some agreement.

    1. Forgive me for my late reply, A Jonsson, but I haven't been able to find an email address for you. To the right of this blog's posts, if you scroll down the page, you will find right beneath the "About Me" a "Contact Venezia Blog" box with which you can send me a direct email. Then I can reply to you.

What size would you like the image to be? So I can then look into the cost of printing it.
