Sanpierota Sunday

Yesterday afternoon, east of San Giorgio Maggiore: scenes of the Regata Coppa del Presidente della Repubblicca.

While I took photos, this was my driver

  1. What a beautiful display! Where all are the boats from? They remind me strongly of the sailboats of Chioggia.

Your young driver takes his job very seriously. Bravo.

    1. I think they come from all around the lagoon, Yvonne, not just from the Vela al Terzo club in Venice, but from those in Mestre and other places. And, yes, my driver is extremely responsible, though his age doesn't exceed the "cavalli" of the engine.

  2. I always found these sails so full of cheer and they always put a smile to my face, not sure why.

Absolutely love the serious expression of your driver. He is having such a blast on that boat, what a gift you gave him.

    1. Even a single sanpierota under full sail is cheery, as you say, Laura, so a whole bunch of them... And, yes, my driver takes his responsibility very seriously indeed, and enjoys it.
